Epay, a secure, fast, and low-cost global payment solution provider. Established and headquartered in Hong Kong in 2014, Epay has branch offices in China, USA, the United Kingdom, Europe, and Samoa, and obtained Hong Kong financial services license, EMI and PCI security certification in the early years. They focus on providing comprehensive financial services such as online deposit and withdrawal services, online payment, currency exchange, and global remittance.

01. Problem Statement

Since customer was struggling with security concerns in their existing account and planning up new release of their application, they wanted to shift their workload to new AWS account with all security best practices in place.

02. Proposed Solution & Architecture
  • For EC2 migration, AMI backup of each EC2 instance are taken and it is shared with target account. Once AMI images are available in target account, EC2 servers are restored in that account.
  • For RDS DB migration, DB snapshots are taken of each RDS instance in source account and shared with target account. Once DB snapshot is available in target account, RDS DB restored from there.
  • Route 53 records in target account created in accordance to source account
