Imperial Auto Industries Limited is India’s largest integrated manufacturer and assembler of Fluid Transmission Products covering the entire spectrum including flexible high-pressure assemblies, metal tubular assemblies, and low-pressure hose assemblies.
The organization was established as a small-scale enterprise in 1969 in Faridabad, India. Today it has a global setup with over 20 facilities across India and another 3 outside India. The organization continues to grow and expand its operations continuously.
01. Problem Statement
Customer’s was using custom tool for report generation from the oracle database hosted at on premise. They wanted to move the reporting and dashboard solution to Power BI and host over cloud in order to offload infrastructure maintenance activities, keep centralized cloud storage solution and enable resource scaling as in when required.
02. Proposed Solution & Architecture
- Setup NAT Gateway is to provide internet access to instances under private subnets.
- Setup EC2 instances for Open VPN.
- Setup AWS DMS for data migration from on-prem to S3 storage.
- Setup S3 for data storage.
- Setup AWS EMR with worker nodes along with cluster node to run the report and dashboard update job
- Setup EC2 instance for MySQL database for storing historical outputs.
- Installed Microsoft Power BI gateway on EC2 server which will be required to facilitate view reports in Microsoft Power BI service.

- Data was transferred successfully from on-prem Oracle database to S3 on daily basis
- PowerBI dashboard was hosted on AWS EC2 servers
- Automated execution of EMR cluster for jobs related to PowerBI reports and dashboard
